Get ready for a fang-tastic time at our 11th Annual Storybook Pumpkin Contest, proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Library! This beloved event invites kids and adults alike to transform a pumpkin into their favorite book, comic, movie, or TV character. With pumpkins provided for kids and prizes for the most creative entries, it’s a fun way to showcase your artistic flair and celebrate your favorite stories. Whether you’re painting, gluing, or crafting, let your imagination run wild! For all the details on how to participate, check out the guidelines below.
Guidelines:
- Kids in preschool - 12th grade can pick up a pumpkin at the library beginning Monday, October 7 (supplies are limited).
- Adults are encouraged to participate but must provide their own pumpkin.
- Entries must be decorated, not carved! To decorate you can use paint, paper, glue, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items. Be creative!
- The deadline is October 22 @ 6 pm, but you can bring your pumpkin to the library anytime after October 7 for display. The winners will be announced at the Spooktacular Storytime on Thursday, October 24 at 4:30.
- Pick up your pumpkin after Storytime or anytime until the 31st to enjoy it on Halloween! Any pumpkins left at the library on November 1 will be tossed!!
- There will be a Grand Prize and Runner-Up in each age group:
- PreK - 2nd grades
- 3rd - 5th grades
- 6th - 8th grades
- 9th - 12th grades
- Adults
