NOVEMBER 7, 2023 GENERAL ELECTION CANDIDATE INFORMATION
The City of White Settlement will conduct a general election on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at voting sites available throughout the City of White Settlement and Tarrant County, at which there will be elected the following officers:

Council Member Place 1
CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD
The first day to file an application for a place on the ballot is Saturday, July 22, 2023.
The last day to file an application for a place on the ballot is Monday, August 21, 2023 by 5:00 p.m.
The last day to file a declaration as a write-in candidate is Friday, August 25, 2023 by 5:00 p.m.
Applications for a place on the ballot must be filed in the City Secretary’s Office, 214 Meadow Park Drive, White Settlement, Texas, 76108. The filing period is set by state law and does not move. Hours of operation for the City Secretary’s Office at City Hall are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Pursuant to Texas Election Code section 141.001 and Article III, section 3 of the City of White Settlement Charter, to be eligible for public elective office, a candidate for City elective office:
- MUST BE a United States Citizen;
- MUST BE 18 years of age or older on or before the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, as applicable;
- MUST NOT have been determined by a final judgment of a court to be 1)totally mentally incapacitated or 2) partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote;
- MUST NOT have been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities;
- MUST have resided continuously in the state and in the city for 12 months immediately preceding the date of the regular filing deadline for application for a place on the ballot;
- MUST be registered to vote in the city 12 months preceding the date of the regular filing deadline for application for a place on the ballot;
- Shall not be employed by the City of White Settlement; and
- Shall not hold another elective governmental office.
CANDIDATE APPLICATION
Each application for a place on the November 7, 2023 ballot should be checked by the applicant before filing to ensure that:
- The application is complete according to instructions and notarized; and
- The appropriate filing fee or petition in lieu of filing fee accompanies the application; and
- Form CTA is complete and filed before paying any fees.
Filing Fees may be paid by cash, check or credit card payable to the City of White Settlement. Fees are:
- Mayor $50
- Council Member $30
