Storybook Pumpkin Contest
Bring your favorite storybook characters to life—on a pumpkin! Our annual Storybook Pumpkin Contest invites kids, teens, and adults to create decorated pumpkins inspired by beloved characters from books, movies, or TV. Show off your creativity and join the fun!
Guidelines:
- Kids in preschool - 12th grade can pick up a pumpkin at the library beginning Tuesday, October 14 (supplies are limited).
- Adults are encouraged to participate but must provide their own pumpkin.
- Entries must be decorated, not carved! To decorate you can use paint, paper, glue, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items. Be creative!
- The deadline is October 28 @ 6 pm, but you can bring your pumpkin to the library anytime after October 14 for display. The winners will be announced at the Spooktacular Storytime on Thursday, October 30 at 4:30.
- Pick up your pumpkin after Storytime or anytime until November 1st to enjoy it on Halloween! Any pumpkins left at the library on November 3 will be tossed!!
- There will be a Grand Prize and Runner-Up in each age group:
- PreK - 2nd grades
- 3rd - 5th grades
- 6th - 8th grades
- 9th - 12th grades
- Adults
