The White Settlement Police Department celebrates National Night Out on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Park, located at 8901 Clifford Street (directly across from the Police Department). The department boasts one of the largest National Night Out gatherings in North Texas and has been awarded from the National Association of Town Watch for the past three consecutive years with national awards based upon the level of engagement and community involvement.
Our team brings together several law enforcement agencies, military branches, and defense industry partners to one event. Federal law enforcement agencies participating in the event include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Secret Service, along with other federal entities. Military partners include the U.S. Navy Police, Naval Criminal Investigations Service, Air Force Security Police, Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Lockheed Martin Facilities Security Protection Forces, U.S. Army 90th Aviation Support Battalion, U.S. Navy Command, U.S. Air Force Command, and many others. Local fire departments, ambulance service providers, and other city entities participate as well.
Many social service organizations, food vendors, and other organizations also attend this event, including city officials from public safety and other areas of the municipal corporation. The White Settlement City Council, political appointees, and City Manager’s Office also attend the event. There is fun for all ages with lots of food and activities available for children.
Each year, the department chooses a special theme. The theme in 2025 includes launching Nextdoor and increasing participation of our public safety mobile app. Nextdoor provides a social space where neighbors can look out for neighbors and support our local Neighborhood Watch Group program. The public safety app distributes news, social media feeds, services, crime trends, and other resources at the fingertips of residents and businesses. Most importantly, the mobile app serves as an emergency notification system for citizens to receive immediate alerts that impact safety. The free mobile app is available for Apple iOS and Android users.
“October ushers in National Night Out, where neighbors can get to know their city and public safety officials at a singular event,” said Chief of Police Christopher Cook. “Public safety is a shared responsibility and we are only as successful as our community participates in crime prevention and public safety initiatives.”
