The White Settlement Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) is a specialized, highly trained and disciplined unit that is comprised of ten officers from both the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions.
Responsibilities
The SWAT Team is responsible for the safe execution of high risk search and arrest warrant operations, critical incident situations such as barricaded persons or hostages, surveillance and traffic or crowd control during special events.
Training
All team members are highly dedicated officers who are required to remain in outstanding physical condition and train together on a monthly basis.
Goal
The goal of the SWAT Team is to assist with a peaceful resolution of issues involving potentially violent encounters.
