RECREATION AIDE
(EVENINGS)

         REPORTS TO:  Recreation Coordinator            DEPARTMENT:  Recreation

         GRADE LEVEL:  $9.32 per hour                     STATUS:  Regular/part

         SUPERVISOR: No                                          CLASSIFICATION:  Clerk 1

GENERAL DEFINITION:
Provides support to the Recreation Staff in administrative duties such as monitoring of activities, clean up and serving the general public in a polite, courteous and professional manner. 

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
Helps to monitor recreational activities with heavy public contact with patrons, instructors and participants.  Assist with registration of classes, counting fees, scheduling of classes and assisting the Recreation Staff in other recreational needs with miscellaneous duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer three to six months work experience preferably in recreation.  Knowledge of computer skills  and CPR a plus.  Good verbal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. High school diploma or GED required.  Bi-lingual a plus. The position is required to be able to work nights and/or weekends.

·         Communication: the ability to listen, read, understands and relay information.

·         Memory: remembering information accurately and in the order it is relayed.

·         Interpersonal skills.

·         Good attendance.

·         Cooperation and take direction from others, teamwork abilities.

·         Ability for mathematical evaluation for cash handling procedures.

·         Ability to lift materials up to 20 lbs.

·         95% working inside facility/5% working outside facility.
