Customer Service Cashier/Clerk

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:

 

Receives payments from citizens and posts to accounts; balances cash drawer; collects envelopes from night drop and posts into computer, handles cash, checks and credit cards for payments and performs other related duties as assigned.  Helps to answer administrative phones, filing, register close-out, download to General Ledger account in computer.  Post utility bills from night drop and mail to appropriate accounts.  Provides high quality customer service to the citizens of White Settlement on water service inquiries, information on new service and current service clarification.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum of two years clerical administrative experience in accounts payable and general bookkeeping duties.  One year of college in accounting and/or business helpful.  Attention to detail a must with good verbal communication skills with an attention to high quality customer service interaction.  Computer literate with Microsoft Office, database management, 10 key by touch and typing skills at 40 wpm.  Ability to communicate verbally and in written format, proper telephone etiquette, and a professional appearance a must.

 

Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and data entry procedures.  Professional business manner and communication skills.  Good attendance required.  Must have high level of attention to detail and organization.

 

Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above-required knowledge, skills and abilities is an acceptable substitute for the above-specified education and experience requirements.
