The White Settlement Crime Control and Prevention Board was created as a special district and authorized by an election held in White Settlement January 20, 1996. The Board is responsible for the development of a Crime Control and budget plan for the city, and they collect the one-half cent sales tax also authorized by the election. The District may finance all the costs of a crime control and crime prevention program, including the costs for personnel, administration, expansion, enhancement and capital expenditures
