The Water Division is responsible for providing safe and pure drinking water in sufficient volumes and under adequate pressure to the citizens of White Settlement. The City Water System has been designated a Superior Public Water System by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
To accomplish this, the Water Division focuses on two activities: Water Production and Water Distribution.
Water Production:
The Water Production section is responsible for the production and disaffection of water produced by 11 city owned wells. The City of White Settlement has 6 wells in the Paluxy aquifer and 5 wells in the Trinity aquifer. Daily production is 1.12 million gallons. The City has a total storage capacity of 2.45 million gallons. This section maintains the 11 wells and the 9 sites on which they are located.
Water Distribution:
The Water Distribution section is responsible for the potable water for the City from the time it enters the City's system. This responsibility consists of maintaining an adequate supply of water in storage reservoirs to meet the peak periods of usage, maintaining water pressure throughout the city, and maintaining pumping facilities that convey water from the reservoirs to the customers. This section also performs emergency repair to the water distribution system.
Water Facts:
45% of the water used by the City of White Settlement is purchased from the City of Fort Worth.
The City maintains 421,295.54 feet or 79.79 miles of water mains.
