The White Settlement Public Library is conveniently located on White Settlement Road in the Municipal Complex.
The Library provides an organized collection of print and non-print material for patrons of all ages that meet their informational, educational, and recreational needs. In addition, there are thirteen computer workstations, located throughout the Library. Each computer has Internet access as well as MSOffice products. The Library has a collection of over 77,000 items housed in a 13,000 square foot building. The collection includes large print books, mysteries, western, science fiction, non-fiction, paperbacks, puppets, magazines and a large selection of titles for children. Furthermore, the Library has an extensive media collection including videocassettes, DVDs, music CDs and a growing collection of books on tape/CD.
The Virginia Donald Memorial Teen Center was created in memory of the Library
Board member who had the longest tenure. The Teen Center is designed
specifically for Teen patrons. This space contains pub-like tables with
zigzag chairs, a game table with six game boards, two game rocking chairs and
two computers. The Teen Center includes teen oriented magazines like Seventeen,
Transworld Skateboarding, Shonen Jump and Teen Ink.
The Library offers three distinctive programs for the community’s children. Story time is for children who are 3 ½ to 5 years of age. The Eager Reader program is for children going into 1st and 2nd grade. The Summer Reading Program is for children in grades K through 6.
