A brief walk across the Farmer’s Branch Creek Bridge will bring you to our Historical Museum, City Hall and Volunteer Fire Department. The City is proud of our local Historical Museum and the members of the Historical Society who keep the City’s rich history alive with various activities, educational reenactments and celebrations White Settlement’s history dates back to the 1840’s when the area was home to seven Indian villages and one non-Indian settlement, hence the name White Settlement was given to our community by the Indian villages.  This settlement became a trading post that was patronized by both the Indians and the settlers eventually growing into the warm community we call home today. City Hall houses Municipal Courts, Utility Department, Customer Service, Permits Department, Code Enforcement and Municipal Administration including the City Council Chambers and Mayor’s office. Our Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection and safety services to the community and mutual aid support to neighboring communities. The 36 member volunteer fire department also serves our community by attending school events and community festivals, participating in community parades, providing educational tours, conducting weekly training for volunteer fire personnel and utilizes the Fire Station Conference Room for EMT Classes.

White Settlement has prime land located along IH30 and I-820W available for commercial development. White Settlement offers an ideal location with easy access to major thoroughfares and neighboring cities while providing big city business corridors and maintaining its small town charm. The White Settlement Area Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Department will be happy to assist you with your commercial development needs within our community. The White Settlement Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors monthly luncheons for area businesses and the annual White Settlement Day Parade, held on the Saturday following the Brewer High School Homecoming celebration.

Our children attend schools in the White Settlement Independent School District (WSISD). The school district began as a one-room log cabin originally located where the WSISD Administration Building now stands. The school district currently has one high school, one middle school, one intermediate school, four elementary schools, one fine arts academy and one alternative campus. Many of our elected officials, city employees and business owners are proud to say they attended White Settlement schools where Friday Night Football is still a community celebrated event.
