The White Settlement Police Department is a full-service (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year) law enforcement agency, located on the west side of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We serve a community of approximately 17,500 people in an area of five square miles. Our daytime population is much higher thanks to several major industrial and commercial employers such as Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and Weir SPM Oil and Gas.
Our department provides professional police services to the White Settlement community through patrol, investigative and community service functions. The Department is separated into two Divisions, Operational Services and Support Services, each under the direction of a Lieutenant who reports directly to the Chief of Police.
The White Settlement Police Department is a Recognized Agency by the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation Best Practices Recognition Program. This program ensures the most critical issues are addressed in both policy as well as practice. Through this voluntary process, agencies prove their compliance with over 168 Law Enforcement Best Practices. Of the more than 2,000 police departments in the state, less than three percent have achieved this recognition. The department received its first Recognition in 2013, which was maintained for four years, and recently completed our second Re-Recognition in 2017.
