Welcome to our great community rich in its Native American history. Many are curious as to the origins of the name of “White Settlement”. This was originally bestowed upon the community by several Indian tribes in the area. During the 1800’s, a time when much of the territory was unsettled, the local Native Americans referred to the few non-Native Americans as “the whites”. As these families established homesteads the Native Americans began to call the area “white settlement”. Later many of the roaming Indians settled down in the area and the name continued as the two cultures lived peacefully along the Farmer’s Branch Creek.

Emerging from the dust of cattle drives, White Settlement’s history began in the early 1800’s and continues today by way of Loop 820 to the West, Interstate 30 to the South, and 341 / 183 leading into Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base to the East. White Settlement is bordered by beautiful Lake Worth to the North where many residents enjoy fishing and boating activities.
